Voters are not responsible for the failures of Democratic Party strategy. It is not the job of activists making demands of politicians to make sure their demands work as campaign slogans for the people they are criticizing. Likewise the political reality that Dems are constrained by a shitty system doesn't absolve them of not even TRYING to placate their base in other ways like Republicans do when things don't go their way. None of this is contradictory or hard.
