When you see that pulsing wave coming out from a circle, that means you are going to be hit for damage regardless, but the further from the center you are (of the pulsing wave, not the stage) the less you will take. It will be a VERY common marker moving forward. Speaking of very common unexplained markers, you will start seeing 4 flashing arrows pointing towards a single player a LOT during bosses, especially after Heavensward.
