I gotta recommend Fullmetal Alchemist : Brotherhood. A lot of people swear by the 2003 version, theres some weird changes they make in the story but it does deliver feels if thats what youre looking for, but Brotherhood does that as well as telling the authors story where the 2003 version ending up deviating from the manga.

Hmm, I watched that when I was way young on adult swim? I forget but it was after hours. I kept up with that and The Big-O (.Hack//) and didnt understand these were anime lol I just thought they were like cooler expanded shows

but Full Metal Alchemist I watched up a couple of episodes past the dog thing >_>

that was freaky - like real freaky for me as a kid haha but I was so freaked out that it was actually on TV made public for everyone

I cant remember much so thats actually not a bad idea

To me it's like, let's put a scene of things to come in the first episode to grab the interest of our viewers. But then we turn that scene into a whole episode, and also use that exact same episode later in the series where it's more appropriate.

Hmm you know,

just because its my first time Ill watch it and get a good WTF out of it lol

Claymore definitely fits the dark fantasy theme pretty well, but it's another "you have to read twenty more volumes of manga to get the true ending of the story" series due to a filler ending.
Gungrave is pretty good. Definitely skip episode 1 as recommended.

Hmm.. Right now Im just spoiling the fuck out of Berserk through random YT vids and its getting me hype to see the movies now

i saw clips of the super CGI Berserk and it looks really weird, kinda like a music video if Im being honest >_>

just started berserk for the first time last night and watched the first three episodes. But this is a relatively old series right? I'm watching the 2016 series I think, which has some CGI in it. Is it the same as the 1997 series?

also crazy that the manga author died last month. RIP

Word I guess the 2016 is like the updated compendium, I usually like to start with the rougher looking start (whether thats a game or movie or show) just because after you get spoiled by nice things it tends to be hard to go back >_>

but sometimes theres a charm to the whole thing - Im really pulled to the characters and its fantastic to see things come together with more weight later on

youre in for a real treat

maybe watch both? I shouldve done that - I did it with Evangelion lol
