Well I dunno what this says, asked a friend to TL a gist of it, but I'm pretty sure some TL will come of it down the line regardless. But what's important here is what I can gather from the auto TL of the comments. Seems like Narukami's bullshit has made a mark on the Japanese public opinion, or in general people are in some silent agreement about this entire situation unfolding. JP people are back to being suspicious of Cover, and perhaps not entirely for unfounded reasons either.

For one thing, a comment did mention that it didn't seem like it was out of some dispute with any of the Holo members, which was a relief, and that seems largely to be true since they've all come in support of her one way or another.

Also another was that after all this, if Holo somehow re-opened their Chinese revenues, they'd quit watching altogether.

But also, I was kinda thinking, this is really good for Coco in general. I'm sure her diehard fans will go to her original channel anyways, which has a sizable sub base and monetization enabled. This also lets her collab with the famous indies. The Indie Vtuber scene is actually kinda like Hololive in a lot of sense. There is like a big clump of close friends that frequently make videos together, like you'd see a good 20 people who very frequently appear in each other's videos. You got girls like Kizuna Ai collabing with the former Kizuna Ai clone made into a new persona Love Chan with other vtubers like Tomari, the 4-5 girls from Animare who are still active and collabs often (though I think Kuku is supposed to be a girly sounding guy), Meika, Gatchman V, Pikamee, Hinata, Tamaki, etc. If Coco get start collabing with this circle, I don't really see a reason for her content to actually change all that much, just that her guests will change, and she will probably have to establish her own Reddit base, since the Holo subreddit really blew up due to her meme reviews to begin with.

Also indies tend to not have to worry nearly as hard about copyright infringement. They still do, but it won't be to the level of how hard Coco was regulated after the China fiasco. Nobody will be able to stop her from doing any shock humor for example.

Sure the indies don't exactly pull Holo numbers or even close, but they've been growing much faster in the last year's worth of time because there are more interest in vtubing in general. Considering that, I don't exactly see her situation as negative. And if Vtubing isn't in her line of interest anymore, I'm pretty sure she's smart enough to go for anything else. Coco honestly should've quit a while ago for her own benefit. I'm sure she mostly found it hard to leave because of the Hololive closeness
