do you like overcoming challenges? specifically ones that can feel extremely difficult, yet are actually fair, and so all it takes is a bit of patience and self-discipline to overcome? it can be a good way to face challenges in general, game or not.

(note that I don't know the topic game however; just randomly replying to your comment)

yeah I do, I tend to get frustrated when I start losing progress though and I have trouble when it comes to precise timing for blocks/parries for whatever reason

roguelikes I enjoy because even when I lose I know that at least partially bad luck was involved, but with the souls games Ive played when you lose it is 100% because you fucked up, and some of those bosses are just crazy it can be really disheartening to prepare for a boss and read a strategy for it only to struggle to even its health down a chunk before it kills me again and then Ive got to grind my way back to it and hope I can do a little better

Ive dabbled in the first Dark Souls, Bloodborne(this one I played the most, I made it to some big white boss in a cathedral), and played 10-15 hours or so of Sekiro, but theyve all eventually started being more frustrating than fun for me so I end up playing other things
