Plenty of takes are being thrown around on who's at fault - overpaid superstars, underperforming vets brought in, Dubas for not trading for Taylor Hall... I don't see anybody blaming Campbell but if it was Andersen that was the starter I'd be blaming him instantly, lol.

But all I can think about is the regular season record-tying Lightning team that got swept in the first round by the Bluejackets, then won the cup the following year. And seem to have all the pieces to do it again.

What changed for the Lightning between those 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, really... the wiki article only claims they added Anton Stralman and Pat Maroon, neither of those are game changers. They had Kucherov, Stamkos and Vasilevskiy when they were swept.

In which case the argument would be, the Leafs don't really need to change anything and maybe it'll all work out next year. Which I'm sure is what people thought last year, lol...
