If I give you a free sample of a product, well, I paid to make that product, so I guess it's not free, right? Except... no one defines it that way. Something is free if it is given to you and you don't have to pay for it. You keep trying to twist yourself into logical pretzels to explain why a bevy of things you don't have to pay for on the internet aren't "really" free, but it simply doesn't work.
