As a manga Berserk really is unmatched. Even though Miura was always putting it on hiatus, and it would take a year just for one chapter, he still put in a lot of effort to each chapter. It wasn't something that was just put out there for the sake of appeasing the fans/publisher/quotas etc. Glad I've been buying the deluxe editions as well.
