That's basically what you're doing. Katy's footprint is large enough that she's basically always going to be relevant at this point.

In 1998 Michael Jackson was pretty irrelevant, and if he had made a Pokemon song that year imagine how it'd reflect on his legacy today. Katy thankfully won't have that to worry about that, but saying either of them will always be relevant is like saying Franz Liszt will always be relevant. We have probably all thought more about Katy Perry in the last 24 hours than we have in the three years before today, because she isn't really a relevant pop culture icon anymore. She had some great hits in the past and she'll get to live off those royalties for life, that doesn't mean she's still relevant to the current pop culture landscape.
