Kids need a paternal influence in their life, where would kid of a lesbian couple get that from? I think it's also important to acknowledge that gay parents are often adopting children from foster homes/orphanages. In that, is lack of a paternal figure better than...no parents at all? I take your point though. But maybe a lesbian couple just needs to be wiser about how they parent. I have a lesbian friend who is having a baby and is considering this problem.
