Also yeah I think Holo subbers were far more prominent, but I don't think it's out of dumb luck. There's just something about Holo JP girls then that just had massive meme potential. Like Pekora's laugh, Matsuri's bandages etc. I guess it's the infamous moe gap that's more in play than people realize. They're supposed to be idols, but they're saying crazy shit all the time that warrants subs. But with Niji, most of them feel like regular Japanese people in their 20's just goofing off. There's no real break in expectation or Western audience relatability. I know Niji also does like idol-y stuff depending on the streamer, but even then I feel like if Niji does Idol theme, the girls stay relatively seiso or purely focused on singing, whereas Holo's singing reps tend to also do crazy stuff all the time because singing is less of a niche there --- "Iwata was awesome" - Mr. Nintendo https://imgur.com/krtFHol ...
