If anything, I think the lazy storytelling for Final Fantasy 13 started with 12. See, I disagree with XIII being even as bad as XII. I would not call it good--there is only so much carrying one man's afro can do, and this game isn't it--but I would call it superior to XII despite being 78% tutorial and 90% needlessly convoluted plot with unnecessary amounts of non-words in its fell-on-face attempt to sound legit interesting. That should tell you how much I loathe XII. I wanted to say II or VIII are the worst of the numbered or mainline FFs (discounting sequels), but that is easily XII. XIII is the fourth worst, and somehow I still liked it; maybe more than a quarter of IV (a notably better game). --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
