TopicI think it's weird that adults celebrate their birthday

Celebrations are just a part of our culture. It's for the same reason people celebrate wedding anniversaries. Considering my wife and I dated for two years before getting married, and were already friends for two years before we dated, celebrating our wedding anniversary seems pointless since we already had a noteworthy relationship way before then. I'd rather celebrate the anniversary of the day we started dating or the day we became friends, but really we don't do any of it. We just celebrate whenever we feel like it.

But people have their customs. They like to find reasons to celebrate things. Holidays, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, baby showers, housewarming parties, retirement parties, and some even celebrate during funerals. I guess it helps break off the mundane day-to-day living.
