Best thing to do is not to let yourself get stuck on it and instead to just move on. Some day in the future you'll understand it. Of course, in situations where you have an easily available official translation handy, this is one situation where it might be worth looking at the English translation (and pray that the sentence wasn't changed during localization). Thing is I understand the sentences of normal conversations. But its different with songs I think.
