Nah, Sunny is mostly a combination of Freshman philosophy and New Age BS filtered through the lens of lots and lots and lots of trolling. My view is more rooted in actual psychology.

The concept of "happiness" is an abstract construct, and it honestly wasn't a significant concept for most of human history. The idea of the "pursuit of happiness" is itself relatively new, from the past few hundred years or so (if anything, most prior generations were far more concerned with the idea of "minimizing suffering").

There've been at least a few studies done that suggest that the mere concept of happiness itself is a major factor in making people unhappy. The more you chase the idea of happiness, the less likely it is that you'll ever actually BE happy. Because "happiness" is such an unquantifiable, subjective thing that it's easy to convince yourself that you don't have "enough", or that you're failing at it somehow, and will thus increase your own general anxiety.

The more you can let go of the idea of happiness itself (and trying to chase it, and live up to unrealistic ideals of what it means), the more content you're likely to actually be in your life.
