I dont see how its hard to take seriously when we have a plethora of other silly things like a super intelligent talking dinosaur. (late comic spoiler). I thought the interdimensional stuff brought some of the coolest parts of the comic into being like alternate versions of Mark (another mid-late comic spoiler).

I guess now that everyone is into this now I should finish the last few volumes of the comic.

But to answer you, thats the great thing about Invincible, it has a lot of great antagonists and A.L. was one of the most important ones, just a little off put by the shows weird chronology.

Yeah its the multiple Marks thing I'm talking about, not the concept itself but the absurdity it gets taken to. A lot of stories do the whole "alternate version of the mc" thing especially with evil versions. I could have seen that coming. But it gets to where you have a bunch of them on some barren wasteland planet cannibalising each other. And it's like wtf. That and the dinosaur thing is some JoJo's style nonsense. I guess the comic is wacky from jump so it doesn't take you out of it. The way the TV show has gone so far is that it has that crazy meme side too, but sparingly. Its brought down to earth pretty quickly. You have a balance between normal action and comedy, and then crazy stuff. They only went full crazy in the last episode with Omni Man trying to prove a point. In the comic it seems to veer off into full wacky plot territory.

Also how many times this AL guy seems to be gone and keeps coming back. I was reading Mark's story arcs with him and it was like dude just die already. Felt like it dragged on too long and was getting very convoluted with how much his dimensions were affecting the overall story.
