Topic	Are you in one of the 12 garbage states like NY to tax unemployment?
archedsoul 05/10/21 2:16:28 PM #1:	This topic is more a rant about how NY state is charging people tax on unemployment benefits when the fucking federal government and every fucking state worth their shit waived $10k. I can't believe it hasn't gotten more coverage because it's that asinine. Imagine being one of the states where the pandemic and shutdowns hit the hardest and these assholes now want their $500-$1000 in taxes. So many people I know are now due by next Monday, and some just don't have the money and those that did plan ahead, had their return eaten by it. Before people bring it up, there were several different applications in the beginning and not all had the option for withholding, so many were completely unaware. It's such a slap in the face. NYC is also not waiving it, and it was one of the worst hit places in the world. NY doesn't even belong in the same group as those other states.
