It shouldn't be controversial for a voice actor to take on any character of any race if they can nail the voice. Yes, on an isolated level, acting should be about acting. Whereas in the modern day landscape of identity politics, representation also has to be taken into account, but outright forcing both the character and actor representation into one package, is a bit too much for me. For clarity, I support both and also the overlap, I am just not a fan of quotas and forcing things. GastroFan posted... This voice acting stuff isn't only in animation, however.
