Definitely informed my taste in music dramatically. I was always a huge fan of his 60s output aged 15 onwards, warmed up to the 70s stuff, and am finally really digging deeper into his 80s work.

Just listening to Zappa and King Crimson constantly right now! Just love that extreme level of musicianship where everyone's tight on the music, but relaxed and improvising.

i think the sweet spot with Zappa was from around '75-'82.

but his entire canon is...unique to say the least.

he's on his own tier like Mr Bungle.

so far out on their own insane navel gazing bullshit limb, zero fucks given about commercial success, just making what they want to make to amuse themselves.

i think now, Keller Williams, Rasputina, and Les Claypool are the kind of guys that run with that torch.
