America already has a large gap under restroom stalls so people can get out in case of a fire. Why is that when someone gets stuck in an elevator they are often left there for days/weeks to starve to death? Why aren't elevators designed so that the door can be open in the event of an emergency or that the roof has an easy to access pull-out ladder or something? 100's of people die each year from an malfunctioning elevator in America alone. --- *flops* ...
