As I was scrolling through the PS3 store to grab a few last items, I was reminded of how much better the 2008-2012 store was. It was faster since it used native software, you could use the regular keyboard to search (instead of that stupid character scroll list), and there was actually an alphabet organization system, so you could jump to a specific section of titles. This was WAAAAAAY better than the current store, where you can only organize from A-Z or Z-A. You wanna see what's in the L section? Get ready to hold down the down button for about 10 minutes as you scroll through hundreds of items and hope you land in the vicinity.

My time with that version was depressingly brief. First, I only got it in 2010, when I only had a wired connection, which just flat-out stopped working one day after a late bill caused a temporary internet cutoff. Even after I got wifi in 2012/13, I didn't really use it much since I lived in walking distance of a Gamestop, so it was mostly used for expansions and digital-only stuff. The only way to see it now is if you have an early game that has a store link built in, an even then, it's only for that one page of extra content. And who knows if even THAT will show up after the shutdown.

I'm really not sure why they couldn't have kept the old, better store for the 3 instead of forcing it to be like the 4's. Would have been less work for Sony and less annoyance for the users.
