If so, put as much money into that as you can afford to. Use the money to buy index funds and/or ETFs. If you have extra money after that, you can do a different type of investment plan (which one would depend on what your financial goals are). $450 for rent is amazing, especially in Los Angeles. Stay there as long as you can, unless it becomes too unbearable to live there.
