can be, yeah. didn't beat more than a handful of games and spent a good chunk of that year not playing anything though due to life. anyway, back to 'that was a really long gura stream you liar,' the rest of Erik's story:

last time around i had just gotten through some cutscenes where we're escaping and the punny slime knows about Erik's past. we're in a hallway that's pretty linar so just follow the path, get on the little stone platform, continue moving forward. Since fall damage isn't a thing ignore the rope and go down the pit where I see three Grinades and a sparkly thing. I challenge one to make sure I've beaten him and there's a Liquid Slime, hell yeah. He actually didn't run away either, turn 2 crit did the job and that was that, 10K EXP. That's kinda the most interesting part that happens for a while really, the dungeon's linear as it gets since it's a side story. The mini boss goes down to a mix of sleep attack -> 6x damage to those asleep. they die, we leave on a floating rock.

in the new area there's 2 treasure chests. grab 'em, one's a seed a deftness and i'm not entirely sure that's got any value so i'll leave it in the bag. continue, kill some enemies, avoid others, until we finally reach some double doors. two sets of them actually, first one connects this area to a previous one so i do that. i imagine it plays no role right now but eventually i'll get here and will be happy i made myself a shortcut. we'll see. i go through the other door, it's clearly a circle shaped room, let's go. cutscene.

...that's a lot of monsters. i'm to fight 3 of 'em, fine, sleep -> murder x3 it is. cutscene.
okay i take it back, *that* is a lot of monsters. so many that the Heal Slime speaks to Erik and can grant him power but only if he loses what's most important to him, which is apparently the rest of the DQ11 crew.

okay there, Vergil.
and his power is... Super Saiyan God? wait no, blue hair too, turban is blocking that off and the little picture of him in the corner shows it's exactly kaio-kan, he's literally Goku. in this fight it's impossible to lose so hey, that's neat. i win, the boss armor gets a crack in it, and then the power runs out just in time for him to get blasted off the platform, which is apparently floating in the sky. the mysterious power who is totally not the sage then somehow slows him down, saves him, and... yep, heal slime transforms into it. cue his memories getting wiped, bit by bit, and this sage looks related to him. i'm sure we'll cover more of that person more later.

next cutscene we've what looks like Sylv's pilot finding him on a beach but he's wondering who he was journeying with this entire time. scene.

bit of a sad one. save, start the next one, looks like it's on Rab.

and now for something completely different, here's a horny old man who, despite being in a white void, has just met his favorite model and his reaction is that he's gotta have courage to bang her. so lemme get this straight, we go from brainwashed, jealous girlfriend that results in possession, to man tries to escape but can only do so by losing what he cares about the most, and immediately jump to horny old man who gives no fucks that his world is literally an empty void, she's hot so it's on.

top tier priorities, good sir. if the world ends all he's gotta do is replace it.
