James Sunderland (Silent Hill 2) 55/100 The more removed I get from the early 2000s, the more I realize just how overrated games from that era were. The writing in particular in Silent Hill 2 is pretty awful. The attempt to hybridize a Twin Peaks-style mystery with the lumbering drudgery of early Resident Evil ultimately produced a rather mediocre cast of characters that were ultimately only buttressed by the standard horror tripe that really has never done anything for me. I think it's okay for us all to admit that horror is the most worthless genre. Breathe in, breathe out. Silent Hill 2 is not as good as we all wish it to be. --- "It is too easy being monsters.
