Okay I agree with the statement that someone said how Monster could be turned into a live action show and nothing would change.

Monster is great.

Also maybe I am not that up to date with recent live action series but it seems like what just happened in Monster would NEVER happen in an American show.

You have shows like Breaking Bad where people get dissolved in bathtubs of acid but Monster's episode 49 just had the villain teach an orphan that no one wanted him because he was born in the red light district and had him learn by having him go visit the district where his mom got pregnant in and then the kid meet prostitutes to see if he can find his actual mom, realizes he isnt actually wanted and his mom never cared about him and at one point even witnesses a sexual act in an alleyway.

Granted this is one episode out of 74 so it isnt as much of an emotional rollercoaster but sheesh this show is always surprising me in ways I never thought possible even after watching anime for over a decade.
