Blasphemous (PC)

Beat the main game and don't want to bother with the DLC content for awhile if ever. The game's okay, on the middle spectrum of Soulsclones for me, somewhere just below Salt and Sanctuary. It has a mixed bag of design decisions but not as bad as 7 Acolytes. Instead of terrible decisions, most of them were just incomplete. Like, you could only ever equip 3 passives at any time despite being passives. Why bother? Just make some of them toggleable like in Castlevania.

I understand as it was a crowdfunded game, that it felt like certain things were going to lead somewhere or had a backstory but just never existed. This kind of vagueness happened for Hollow Knight too when it originally came out and as I'm reading up, the DLC content fleshed out some one-dimensional NPCs.

Anyways, this game looks great. I'm incidentally a fan of Aquelarre, which is a spanish-inspired tabletop RPG that deals with this kind of religous horror. Lots of drawn to life art pieces as enemies and bosses. The concept itself is great.

It's not so cliche anymore when it's happening to you.
