Usually, meteorologists love to hype anything weather related as much as possible, so I would think there should have been some kind of warning. I am in the midwest where we have stuff like that on a regular basis, but anytime we have a storm or extreme cold, its the top news story. I would be a little surprised to find that warnings werent all over the place for cold and ice like this in Texas. However, The aftermath of this storm seems comparable to a major hurricane that affected more than just the coast.
