Cops did a really lousy investigation and decided her son did it based on false leads like a teacher mistakenly saying he had missed their class the day of the murder. The teacher later corrected and said he had been in class but the cops ignored the correction Anyway the cops tricked him into a false confession and he spent decades in prison on top of having lost his mother ...
