Do you think it should be legal to leave your fortune to a pet or should the courts takeover and distribute the money to charity?

Bill Dorris, a wealthy man who owned land where a controversial statue of Confederate Generate Nathan Bedford Forrest was located has left his 5 million fortune to his 8 y/o DOG, named Lulu.

Lulu, an 8 y/o border colliee will be living the Good life in Nashville after inheriting the money as her caretaker, Martha Burton said Bill was a successful businessman who wasn't married or had kids or next of kin as he died late last year

His will states that the money wil be put into a trust for Lulu's care

Martha says "He just really loved the dog". She says shed oesn't know if she could ever spend 5 million on Lulu but whatever she does spend will be reimbursed for Burton on a monthly basis

All purchases made for the dog will need need to be approved by a conservator as it is unclear what happens if Lulu dies.

The fate of the statue and the rest of his estate will also be determined in probate court.

Do you think it should be legal to leave your fortune to a pet or should the courts take the money and give it to charity?
