Case 5-4 - The Cosmic Turnabout

My birthday was this week :3 Got some takeout fried rice and rewatched one of my favorite films, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.

We ask Aura about what she witnessed, and she says she saw a figure holding a fancy planet/Earth adorned lighter in the left hand and a knife in the other stab someone. She couldn't tell who it was aside from the lighter's design. She sneers at us after doubting that we can prove Solomon Starbuck's innocence, saying she detests lawyers. Wonder what that's all about.

We dig a little deeper and find not only does she detest prosecutors even more, but she thinks the entire judicial system is pointless. She mentions a preference to robots than humans, saying that the flawed unpredictability of humans prevents reasonable justice from being carried out. Aura charges up Clonco and he enters a fugue state, claiming robotic supremacy - until he is hit on the head once again and can't remember it.

I wonder if the Blackquills were in a situation where they depended on a lawyer and he couldn't get one of them cleared, like a parent. That's what this sounds like. Then the older sister heads in a 'can't depend on humans' direction, and the little brother splits off to the 'I'm going to make sure everyone's punished' side.

This whole thing gets Athena riled up. She's been weirdly quiet during this whole exchange. Still pretty sure there's something between her past and the Blackquills >_>

Aura expresses an interest in vigilante justice, and notices Widget around Athena's neck. She refers to Athena as royalty returning to the castle, which is weeeeird. Anyway, Aura warns us that Director Cosmos lies and boasts, and excuses herself without so much as a 'good luck tomorrow'.

Phoenix manages to turn Athena's mood around by pointing out that even if people like Aura don't believe in the legal system and are instead put off by the 'dark age of the law', all they can do is work hard as a team. Woo!

We're going back to talk with Starbuck at the Detention Center tomorrow. See you then!
