Teambuilding is a difficult subject and I can't say mine is very good even when I'm far into the endgame. What I can say is that it's important to have access to the main four elements for certain things (breaking shields, mostly), but that doesn't mean that you need four highly developed characters to cover them. For instance, Kaeya can be swapped in just to use his elemental skill for a quick application of ice and swapped out without needing him to be high level. You mostly want to start with your best DPS, or the character you most want to use as DPS, give them your resources and keep them as strong as possible, and aim for the characters that synergize with them.
