For non-Maddening I typically prioritize Gardening as follows: 1) Get enough food to have consistent meals with my class to keep motivation topped off 2) Get flowers so I can just gift cheese supports for easier recruiting. 3) Farm Stat boosters I do a lot less recruiting in Maddening so I reverse two and three for that difficulty.
