This kid, who is not a soldier or officer of the law, heard there were going to be protests, protests that were in an entirely <u>different state</u> than the one he lives in, took it upon himself to gather weapons and travel to the site of the protests in order to live out some bizarre MAGA LARP GI Joe fever dream with deadly consequences.
If he was home and someone tried to break in, he could argue self defense. If he was out and about and just so happened to find himself in a situation where he felt it necessary to shoot someone, maybe he could argue self defense.
But this guy went looking for trouble. He inserted himself into a situation he had no business taking part in. You don't pack a rifle, hop in a car, and drive miles away to go "defend yourself".
