Rushed Closing Chapter 5 Deadly Life Thoughts Because I Want To Get To The Trial
I've got theories but I feel like I'm missing something here because nothing ties everything together cleanly. Nagito had poison in his refrigerator, poison handling equipment under his bed, and some sort of small plastic lid he likely peeled off the poison container. He also very likely died by poison since the Monokuma file doesn't say the huge spear in his gut is what killed him. And since he had the poison AND died by poison...it should be a suicide? Right? Am I overthinking things here? Did the game double psyche me out by going "oh boy remember case 4 was a suicide last game so it could be one here too tee hee" only for it to be case 5 that's the complicated suicide.

Like..maybe Nagito couldn't figure out the traitor so he decided to make it look as complicated as possible so we didn't think it was a suicide and then everyone dies that way when we guess wrong at the end? Same sort of thing as his "I'll blow up the island" fake plot but a slightly more clever way of taking them all out.

Two other things stood out to me: Akane kicking down the door when people told her not to, in a move that likely triggered the fire and set off whatever crazy rube goldberg set up was out there and Fuyuhiko going to the island alone and finding the bombs while "conveniently" not checking the warehouse beforehand. So if it isn't suicide, I could see it being one of these two.

But...the poison was in Nagito's room. That has to be important in some way. And they make it very clear "hey half the poison is missing from this bottle". AND Monokuma wouldn't let us into the room right away, AND the poison label that illiterate Hajime had to have Chiaki read to him said that it hydrolyzed in air quickly and would basically go away safely after a few minutes.

So. Hold on. Maybe Nagito sets up this plot to cause a fire. The fire burns up whatever container Nagito has the poison in (I do remember it said you could store it in some plastic container), he breathes in the poison, dies, and boom, we have a class trial. Is that how the murder happened?

Sooo...is Nagito the murderer for putting the poison there or is Akane the murderer for kicking down the door and causing the fire, even if it was unintentional in this scenario? I legit don't know.

I'm trying to thin if there is any way Nagito could've been working with someone here. Like someone who assisted Nagito in this suicide who is the real killer. I don't think that makes sense. Nagito could've given the poison and other stuff to the second person in that case so they could hide it, right? Unless they were just out in the open for us to see because of game related reasons (we needed clues).

I'm taking actual torture off the table. Maybe. I dunno. But Fuyuhiko was on the island alone AND could've helped set this up. Someone needed to restrain Nagito. I forgot about that part of it. Shoot. Hold on, let me think.

So Nagito has the poison. He clearly sets up the poison. But who ties up Nagito? Why is someone helping Nagito kill themselves? What is the whole point of the traitor sub plot here other than to break my heart by having it be Chiaki?

I think I'm going to quit theorizing here because I feel like I have no clue and I'm just rambling AND I could just play the game and find out that way instead! Yeah, that sounds more fun!

THIS NOW CONCLUDES THE LATEST CHAPTER OF SUPRAK SPIRALING INTO MADNESS JOIN ME NEXT TIME WHERE IT'LL SURELY HAPPEN AGAIN
