$1M? You can't retire young off that. I'd save it. My "share it around" cutoff is probably $10M, and even then I'd probably only hand out a max of 10% at that point. I'd like myself and my kid at least to not have to worry about money. Living reasonably, you could do it with that easily. I live in a place where everything is a fucking ripoff though, so $1M and move to a cheaper area would probably be smartest.
