i dont think i ever saw a topic on this so I thought I'd share, apologies if old

Basically this guy fed an AI the first 251 Pokemon and almost all Digimon, then had it identify which Pokemon were most like Digimon and vice-versa. The way he explains it above is that it looks at the entire image of a Pokemon and assigns literally all "sections" of it (eyes, ears, body shape, etc) as either being Pokemon or Digimon-esque, then calculates an overall percentage of pokemon features vs digimon features

These Pokemon are the most like Digimon:

These Digimon are the most like Pokemon:

Here are the Pokemon that are the least like Digimon, some really surprising ones in here:

Generations with the most Pokemon that it classifies as Digimon (I think this is % based and not a raw #):

and for shits and giggles he made a bunch of modifications to Mightyena to try to get the algorithm to see it as a Pokemon and not a Digimon. this image worked best:

there's a ton of other really cool statistics in the article itself, just use google translate to read it. the article is super long and goes way in depth about how it all works and it's mostly readable. one of my favorite things is the breakdown of digimon characteristics vs pokemon characteristics:

Digimon:
  • black
  • Thorny design
  • complexity
  • Vivid shades
  • There are many drawings

Pokmon:
  • pastel colour
  • round
  • simple
if you ever wanna make your own digimon just make sure there are many drawings. also make sure it's black?
