Was it the in-game or the OST version that participated in VGMC?

Damn VGMC 14 is cleaning up

Yeah. One half of them from that contest are pretty much in the top eighth!

Late, but...my bad. DJ Totto has two retirees, not one.

Favorite Part: Most everything, really.

Im guessing this is an ending theme? (Likely wrong, as usual) Unbelievably gorgeous throughout, and MAN, the feels this music evokes! The vocalists theme reaches out deep in my heart. I just love the way the music BALANCES between lyrical and upbeat. Man, its even better listening to everything on headphones I had not ever done that until I did this write-up.

The piano intro is LUSH despite its simplicity gotta love the second chord, the bII in there, the way it utilizes the tonic and 4th notes of the scale! Its nice the way the piano acts as both a duet and countermelody with the singer at parts. Then when the full instrumentation comes in at 0:36 gotta love the soft electronic drums...absolutely perfect. Piano gets a bit more upbeat with its slightly syncopated use, and it complements the drums perfectly. Synth pads weaving in and out add atmosphere and additional harmonic depth! Meanwhile, the same gorgeous melody on top repeats LOVE the bass note at 1:00 as we get into part B. 1:17 we get backup pop vocals!

1:47 the intro is used again as a small intermediary section, cool. And now the solo turns into a duet! Plucked instruments add nice percussive effect, but it's the guitar solo at 3:09 that's REALLY impressive - the sound is SO WARM and BUTTERY, the best acoustic guitar sound Ive ever heard! And the jazzy improvisation it does so STYLISH, the way the swing emphasizes the offbeats, among other things. (The Flash Frost guitar solo is still better in terms of performance, tho) Then we get a light conclusion with a major 3rd, along with wind chime flourish. Very nice. EVERYTHING in this is SO PERFECT.
