I mean yes there is a significant amount of improvement and upkeep of legacy code but I would not find that very satisfying if that's all I did. We write a ton of new code at my job... It is a startup but a large one. Previous company was old from the 90s and I still got to work on new code and entirely new tech for them. But yes there's a lot of architecture design that goes into that, metric analysis. It's not all coding but saying no one writes new code anymore sounds depressing. --- aka kriemhilde00 ...
