It sucks, but it's just incorrect to think he's actually silenced at all.
I mean yeah if you want to be technical he's not literally silenced - he can still reach his base with Fox and other TV platforms if he wants.

But that's the issue here - reach. How many tens of millions of people were following his Twitter account? It was that platform that he used to announce hires and fires, policy proposals, at all hours of the day and night. Twitter allowed him to control precisely what he said and when to say it with no repercussions. Fox might let him rant and rave for an hour, but that'd be it.
