Maybe something happens in the coming episodes, I don't know. But how exactly is he in the wrong for killing a group of people who have spent the past few years killing everyone he cared about after banishing them behind a wall for a century? People are trying to say he killed innocents, but those same innocents were just told that they were being lied to for the past century and that the Eldians were a scapegoat, but that it didn't matter because they were still going to murder them, and then they cheered.
