The crux of many disagreements, political and otherwise, is "feelers vs. thinkers". Feelers let emotions dictate their positions, and build a logic to support their beliefs. Thinkers use cold logic to build pragmatic outlooks regardless of the human element. It's like oil and water because in a very general sense, feelers can refuse to think and thinkers can refuse to feel. People on the fringes, regardless of left or right, tend to be feelers.

I have no difficulty removing people from my life if they suck, but anyone that's earned my trust/respect isn't going to be cut loose over a bad take or two unless it's something really extreme or they're a criminal.
