#85. Pokemon Puzzle League (N64, 2000)
Or Tetris Attack or Panel de Pon or whatever you'd like to call it. This is my favorite of the Tetris-style puzzle games, edging out Puyo Puyo and friends just a bit. Don't have toomuch to say about the game itself. You know what it is. It'sfun to set up combos and fight garbage. I haven't played too much of the other "variations" but I got this game originally because it was Pokemon and a puzzle game, so that was most ofthe draw I needed. There's a fair amount of variation in this game to keep it relatively fresh from the 1P campaign, to Two player (always a favorite), to the puzzle and challenge modes, andto the 3D mode which was pretty spiffy for its time! I think on a good day I could definitely have this higher on my list. Maybe I wish there was a little more content, but that's not really possible for a game like this so its fine! Also, shoutout to the GBC game Pokemon Puzzle Challenge for being a decent port (albeit game-based over show-based) and working in Gen 2. It's not nearly as charming though.

Plus a game having a direct connection to the show was a hoot. All the voice clips and Pokemon calls really make this stand out, from "Work Harder Ya Butt!" to "Oh Golf Club" to "Pasta Finale!" they never ge-, wait that's not what they're saying????

Next up: A game starring a canonical Mets fan, how can I not have it on my list???
