#79. Super Mario World (SNES, 1990)

Man was I ever hyped to play this as a kid. I had an NES from birth basically because my dad wanted one and used the excuse of me wanting it. So having played a lot of Mario you can imagine what 4 year old me thought of this insanely colorful game on a new Nintendo. We did not get a SNES though. My friend did and we played this religiously. He also had Pilotwings which .... well it was turned on at some point. This is the first mainline Mario game to appear on my list but it certainly won't be the last. It always impresses me how crisp this game is. Nintendo really did and still does amazing work with platformers feeling great. So much stuff from the late 80's and much of the 90's just feels bad to play. Not Mario, they still feel amazing 30 years later.
