The post wasn't totally serious but from what I've seen, the main point is that you want to convince the local auhorities that you are really just a tourist and not someone trying to migrate illegaly. That said I've never been in this specific situation myself since I always had at least a student visa. I guess if you are going there to study/work, be ready to answer questions about that.
