I'm sure that this is a SHMUP. Something about the hope that all of these main themes have is so distinctive. It's almost a remix of Space Harrier Who cares?. I think they'd definitely be worse if rearranged in another soundset, but, at least in regards to my tastes, if they were composed "similarly" with a different soundset in mind, I'd like them much better. They occupy an odd niche, balanced on a local maximum of my preference that's dwarfed by greater maxima away from it Who cares?. I strongly associate you with Spyro, so that was probably the case. This is pretty good for Spyro music. Not particularly interesting, but it holds my interest. Not especially enjoyable, but I do enjoy it. Rising from a franchise infamous (to me, at least) for mediocre music, it does *something*, at least, for itself. Though IIRC Dire insists Spyro 3 music is the best of the trilogy --- Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination ... Copied to Clipboard! |
