I wonder how business would have changed for these places if they switched to focus on renting video games instead of movies. If these places were 80% video games and 20% movies (instead of the opposite) maybe they would have had more success. I kinda miss being able to grab a game and beat it in a week/weekend. Now I have to spend $60 dollars on Miles Morales which I'm never going to play again after a few weeks.

Well, most rental places typically lost money on games, which lead to several of them setting longer minimum rental periods. Redbox stopped renting out games all together.
