Hexyz Force (PSP, 2009) Far be it for me to allow nick to be the only one plumbing the depths of obscure JRPGs, this game on the one hand doesnt do anything super new or exciting mechanically or even plotwise. But it is one of the very few "choose a protagonist" games that really makes that gimmick work. The game has substantially different plot beats on the Cecillia and Levant paths and is actually short enough at around 35 hours per run that I actually was able to experience both branches. The twos paths do sometimes intertwine which is cool but they dont become concurrent so you have a sense of how different the other route will be.
