If we ever actually reach a point where you residential living in space or on another planet is possible, you can bet countries are going to claim planets/moons. I actually doubt that will be the case or, if there are, it will be similar to the colonies in the old time with local governments acting in stead of the actual governments back in europe or, in this case, earth.
