Some spiciness to end the night, I suppose

Sounds like generic college rock except sung by an 11 year old Japanese girl as an anime OP. Gets a little better, or less mediocre, as it progresses

Who cares?. Sonic Generations - Rooftop Run (Modern)
Nominator: @BetrayedTangy

Oh, oh! I've got something for this! Somebody in SiIva objected to me rating this a six (under this system it's a bit higher, clearly) and didn't like my explanation of 'it's 6/10 because it's aight/10', so I've got something substantial. Take this as you will:

Rooftop Run bears many of the most disappointing tropes of vgm. Its violin reminiscent of Blue Reflection, its guitar of Mitsuo Singa, its percussion of the Azure Arbitrator. Its melody is nothing to write home about, and the main substance of the song seems dependent on how nauseatingly upbeat, cheerful and bright it is. There's nothing really to the song that's at all noteworthy beyond 'i'm happyyyyy!!!!!'. Other than that stupid violin, it lacks anything to care about. Any amateur could write that drumline before scrapping it for something better, any indie rock band would try to pass that guitar line as something interesting. It's not terrible, it's just something that lacks any depth or anything to compel you at all. It sounds nice, and nothing more, so it gets a 6/10
