That's another thing I've been mulling over. I don't like thinking about this stuff too much because I'm afraid I'll spoil something by figuring it out too early.

But I think the triad of Byakuya-Nagito-Hajime hides one of those characters that is working with Monomi/Monokuma and maybe has both of them. I cannot figure out what is going on with Byakuya and why he is back. He dies here but no way is that the end of his relevance to the story. It would be very weird for them to bring him back for no reason just to kill him off immediately. And especially causing such a drastic change to his appearance for seemingly no reason. I don't think they'd turn him evil, and feeding him up as first chapter fodder seems even less likely if he doesn't have a greater role in the story.

Sooooo...was he working with whatever Monomi was doing? She seemed to be trying to keep this group safe, which would make sense considering the world seemed to have ended almost by the end of the first game. Sort of a "this will be for your guys own good if you stay on this safe secluded island away from the chaos". And Byakuya was helping?

...but why the hell is he so fat? Of all the mysteries, this is the one I have no theory of other than the possibility an artist had an engorgement fetish and didn't show any one else the artwork until it was too late.
